"I could not be more impressed with Marian and his crew. We needed to get a new floor in before we moved into our new home and needed to get another two refinished. He hustled to get us into his schedule, was price competitive (not the cheapest but also far from the most expensive), and completed the work with the highest quality. This included a very challenging herringbone pattern floor for an extremely small space and he even moved baseboard around and replaced cedar in the closet to make sure that the finished product was up to expectations. I am a general contractor myself for a living, but exclusively on large commercial projects. I will tell you that Midwest is exactly the type of sub I like to work with and I am so happy that we found them to help us with our own home."

Marian and his team were excellent. This was my first time ever needing work on my floors and he made it a breeze. I had water damage from another unit and got the whole condo re-sanded as well. He gave me the best estimate and worked around my built in cabinetry. My floors look amazing. I was a difficult customer because I travel for work every week, but Marian was supportive and trustworthy - I didn't have to worry about anything! He even texted me photos DAILY about progress since I was out of town. From now on I will be using Marian and his team for all hardwood flooring. Really excellent and made a stressful process very easy.

How do you say GREAT!! Marian, of Midwest Hardwood Floors, gave us the most complete appraisal of the 3 contractors we engaged. His price was right in our ballpark, yet what really drew us to him was his confidence, honesty, and sense of humor. The work was completed on time and any concerns were handled promptly and "with a smile". The painters and other people that Marian brought to complete the project were hard working, prompt, and extremely personable. Each day, from start to finish, the workers cleaned up, leaving the area as neat as possible until their return. It's been a while since the work's been completed, but when I look at the floors and stairs each day, I just am amazed at how beautiful they are. There's no doubt in my mind that I'd highly recommend Midwest Hardwood Floors to anyone looking for a contractor!

We were stunned to see how good our floors looked after the work was done. Our teak parquet floors were thin and fragile, but Marian and his crew worked with extreme care and attention to detail. They really know what they are doing.

The job involved refinishing and repairing 800 sqft of teak parquet floor tiles, sanding the entire area (removing the existing ebony-colored stain), replacing missing and damaged wood in a 10 sqft area with custom-cut oak, and finally applying 3 coats of polyurethane oil-based satin finish.

The previous property owner hired a BAD flooring company and regretted it. This other company stained the wood improperly and then resorted to covering up the beautiful teak with a dark ebony stain. We assumed that we were stuck with a black floor. However, Marian used a small sander in a closet to show how the ebony stain could be removed, without removing more than maybe a millimeter off of the delicate quarter-inch parquet tiles. He answered all of my questions and he understood and followed all of my special requests for the job.

The work was excellent and service was prompt and friendly. There are probably companies out there that will do a hardwood refinishing job for a cheaper rate, but my experience is that it pays to get a real expert like Marian.

After 2 months of searching we found Marian from Midwest Hardwood Floor, our designer referred him to us. We call him for a estimate and he showed up to the door in the same day. We explained very detailed what we are looking for and after couple days he agree to take over the project.

This Was not a regular job for him but after 3 weeks he delivered exactly what we wanted. Marian is very knowledgeable, focused on details, trustworthy, professional and very, very good at his profession. The white oak design, borders and the stairs has precise cuts and measurements, even our architect was amazed. Over-all he did an awesome job and i would recommend him to anyone, and in fact, already have. I am absolutely thrilled with the work. Do not hesitate to use him.

Purchased a 4 room apartment that required serious resurfacing and refinishing of the maple hardwood floors. Got a number of quotes and Midwest Hardwood was the most competitive. Marian was very informative about what he would deliver and delivered what he promised, ahead of schedule. He showed me samples color directly on the floor and finally we make a decision for Dark Walnut stain color. The results were excellent and made a huge impact to the look of the apartment. Would have no hesitation in using Midwest again or recommending them to anyone else who needs a similar service.

This is a long overdue review for Marian and his crew of talented and hardworking flooring professionals and I hope this bears the weight it should. I am a practicing home inspector who has also remodeled my fair share of projects over the years. I have seen a fair amount of the good and an awful amount of the bad. I was introduced to Marian back in 2003 to handle a couple of homes I was working on and I haven't looked back since. Every job he has ever worked on that I have either hired him for or seen has been excellent. He WILL NOT complete the job until it meets his critical eye nor will he sell you something that he thinks you don't need. Fairly priced and very communicative are two descriptions I could give among many others. He is a flooring professional from the get go. It has been nearly ten years since my first project with Midwest and guess who did my own personal home when it was time? You are correct, there was never a second's doubt that he was going to be my guy on job. Our floors were not easy to work with--we used salvaged oak with many a funky board, knot, swale, swirl, pock mark, etc. They turned out beautifully and we are complemented every time a new guest arrives and asks what/how/who/why about them. You will not be disappointed nor will you have to worry about the finished project. Tell them what you want, hire them, and then let them do what they do best. You will be thrilled.
